Weekly Update 10-18-2011

As you can see, the weekly update isn't so weekly any more. This is because I'm working on a lot of projects right now but I haven't gotten to the point where any real information can be posted. I have got a bunch of ideas floating around and I will be working on them for a while but I'm not sure when any real information can be given, plus I don't like giving out plot details for sake of ruining or dulling the experience of the film even if it's only 5-10 minutes long. But I will begin the production of a script on one of my millions of strange and fragmented ideas and I will tell you when I have something worth filming.

Weekly Update 9-28-2011

I have a quite a few new plans for my WLD3 Productions channel. One of which is that it will be the new home of Zapton cartoons, which I will be reviving some time. I have a few ideas for a new animated film, but it will likely be quite some time before I get it animated. I'll admit my old animated films were rushed and lacked polish, and I intend to deal with this problem in my next animated short which will showcase a cleaner looking Zapton and much more detailed backgrounds. Hopefully I can get working on the film real soon.

Weekly Update 9-20-2011

Well, my celebration of my latest film has been met with the pre-production for a new one. I don't know when I'll make it but it will be a much smaller project then "Filthy Ambitions". I don't know when I'll get back to the comedy I was working on, I'll have to find some new cast members and maybe re-film some shots I did before summer.
All I know is that my next film won't be as dark as "Filthy Ambitions," and it might have a more simple plot.

Thanks for watching my film and reading!

Weekly Update 8-30-2011

Only a few days left of filming, editing and final music composition. It's looking good but I'm hoping I can get it shortened due to YouTube time constraints.
Well, I promised you would be the first to know the release date. The film is set for a September 3rd release. I can't wait to get this film out! I'm extremely excited and I hope you share my excitement over the next 5 days til its release, (wish me luck on getting it out on time). The film explores themes I've explored in my other films, albeit with a less apparent sense of humor than on the earlier explorations, and you may be able to spot some recurring plot devices. Though it was accidental, a few plot devices from "Through the Night" make an appearance in this film but are used for an extremely different effect.
Again, check my channel (WLD3Productions) on September 3rd for the film and as always:

Weekly Update 8-23-2011

I have reached about the half way mark in filming and editing my new film. I hope to finish the whole film in 8 more days. I will start the soundtrack today, as I hope to use less synths this time around which will extend the length of its production. So far so good, I'm very happy with the look and feel of the production and I've added some dialogue and some scenes that weren't in the script. Again I hope to get the film out in a little more than a week, so fingers crossed that everything goes well.

Weekly Update 8-16-2011

Well, filming has started for the thriller! I have put some of the footage together and I am very pleased with its final look on Final Cut. I've finally got the Color Correcting techniques to my advantage! Natural light is still being a double crossing bastard though. Its hard to tell what it will look like on my, admittedly, poor camera for night shots. And it quite often gets dark incredibly quickly so these night shots may take a while, but I can't tell you how nice it is to get started. I'll have some more progress to talk about next week hopefully.

Weekly Update 8-9-2011

Well, I got back from a long trip to America. I'm back to production on the short thriller film and will be filming very soon. I plan on this film being the first to practice more professional techniques with cinematography, lighting and editing. The script is written, though I'm still making minor adjustments, and I'm just about ready to get rolling! This film also requires a very small crew so it should be a lot less of a hassle then my comedy film. I'll try and keep you posted as much as I can loyal reader!

Weekly Update 7-12-2011

I have decided to postpone the entire short film till after summer. It would be best for the actors and for me so I can sort a few things out. In the meantime I have written the script to a thriller. I know that sounds extremely stupid: a thriller right after a comedy, but I will be the only one working on the film. This means I am free to do whatever I want, whenever I want for however long I want. This thriller is going to be my first attempt at a serious short film and I think you will see just what I can do with camera angles, lighting and acting to spook you. I don't want to make a gross out movie, I want to make a film that will stick in people's heads and make them think about what just happened. I'm really excited to begin work on this short and I hope that its a bit more fun to make then my failed comedy. I will continue work on the comedy but it won't be released for quite some time.

Weekly Update 6-29-2011

I've been having the hardest time getting my partying high school senior actor to actually show up to filming times. I might have to find a new actor and postpone the whole project til after summer. I'll keep you posted.

Continually stressed,
Trey

Weekly Update 6-21-2011

*I'm getting back to the old schedule: a post every Tuesday*
I'm fixing to film some major scenes in the short film. This is going to be a stressful process, because I'm going to be filming at my musical rehearsals. Its going to be time consuming, and the director of the musical is sure to be cross, but I have to get this filming done while my actors are still in France.

New post next Tuesday,
Trey

Not So Weekly Update 6-16-2011 (I failed)

Wow, I've gotten busy. I finished exams at school but I have musical rehearsals taking up time I could continue filming. That's right, I've started filming. It's going well except the fact I got a haircut brought on by my mother in the middle of filming.
As promised, here is the synopsis for the new film:
A boy, Max, is bad news to all teachers. His arch nemesis, Mr. Harrison, is the teacher to rival his behavior, though fiendish in his own ways. Mr Harrison has Max finishing all the Math work he didn't do but Max has other plans. Max has to meet his girlfriend for a private talk but his detention is getting in the way. The clock ticks as he nears the time he has to meet her, will he make it?
Obviously hilarity ensues. By the looks of the script, its going to be a 10-15 minute short film. I can't wait to unveil this film and I look forward to all feedback.

Weekly Update 5-24-2011

Well, I'm about done with a first draft for the new script. Keep in mind, a first draft for me is constantly changing and really has no follow up. I consider my first draft to be a working draft, and will only be followed by its release (as I have no higher opinions about the script or people to judge it). This is because I am writing on a computer and I can go back and delete things straight from the soft copy.

My biggest fear though for this production is having only one camera and microphone. This will be my first movie with sound effects that aren't live and voices recorded by a boom mic and not the external mic on my digital camera. I'm also going to make use of all the practical lighting I can get. The film is set in the day so I don't have to fret too much but rooms can get dark and "blue-ish" with natural lighting.

To sum that up, this film will test all my sound, cinematography and editing abilities. Obviously this film is constantly on my mind, and I'd really like to just get started as I'm gonna have a real tight schedule but I want this film to be good and I won't settle for anything less than excellent.

Weekly Update

I will be updating my blog weekly as soon as I begin pre-production for a short film.
Since I have begun pre-production for a premiere video for WLD3 Productions, I will begin the weekly updates until the film has been posted. This is in part because I take a long time to make films normally and this will keep me focused.

So far, I have made a plot and begun a script. I plan to have finished all photography before the end of the school year. My reasoning for that is that I will have people from my school performing in the short (which should be 15 minutes long) and it will be filmed at my school. Once a script is finished I will post a plot synopsis.

The next update will be next Tuesday!
Thanks for dropping by!

Greetings from Trey-

Well, I just created my new account on YouTube and my new blog for all updates on the channel's videos. I will still be making videos for YouAndMrT, but I want to also work on more serious films and a channel with only comedy films will not create a good image for any new films. I've begun work on a new film all ready and I hope to have it up soon! Keep checking back to this blog for all news, and check out new films at  http://www.youtube.com/user/WLD3Productions.

Your's truly,
Trey
